Fernando Velázquez is a Puerto Rico-based attorney and certified public accountant with over 15 years of experience in tax law and public accounting. Fernando has extensive experience in tax advisory and compliance for multinational corporations and high net worth individuals in Puerto Rico, the United States and abroad. His practice includes the procurement and negotiation of tax exemption decrees, tax-exempt structuring operations in Puerto Rico, business registrations, strategic tax planning, and counsel for United States federal international income taxes matters. In addition, he has advised on various aspects of the US Tax Reform Act (TCJA) and the Puerto Rico Internal Revenue Code.
In the past years, he has served as advisory counsel for many investors and businesses seeking tax exemption grants under Puerto Rico’s Act 60 (Previously Acts 20 and 22). Fernando has also worked extensively with issues related to the taxation and compliance of cryptocurrencies.
